Highlights of North Argentina 15 Days allows you to enjoy a complete trip in the North area of the country, visiting its main spots: Ibera Marshlands, region owning one of the largest varieties of flora and fauna in the country. Stay in and old typical Estancia and learn customs of country folk. Iguazu Falls where cents of cascades, narrow and wide rivers allow multiple activities.
Followed by the amazing landscapes you will discover in the Argentinean northwest, a region that offers amazing natural spots (gorges, valleys, high plains, salt flats, etc) and multiple colors rock shapes combined with the local culture of people who still maintain ancient practices. You visit the city of Salta, known as “La Linda” (The Beauty) for its impeccable appearance, one of the Argentine cities that still preserves its colonial atmosphere, located in an altitude of 1200m and surrounded by hills; the towns of Cachi; Cafayate; Salinas Grandes in Jujuy province and the village of Purmamarca in the Humahuaca Gorge.
This trip starts & ends in Buenos Aires city, where you see a mixture of colonial, neo classic and modern architecture that will amaze you every time you walk around its charming streets in the neighborhoods of San Telmo, La Boca and Plaza de Mayo.

Day 01
Buenos Aires
Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred by private service to your hotel, leaving you the remainder of the day to explore the historic neighborhoods and enjoy the cafe culture of Buenos Aires.
Day 02
Buenos Aires to Posadas. Estancia San Lorenzo
Upon arrival in Posadas you will be taken to your Estancia San Lorenzo where you will have the afternoon to explore the beautiful secluded countryside on foot or via horseback. The fresh air and stunning scenery is the perfect complement to your days spending in urban Buenos Aires. Lunch and dinner are included.
Day 03
Ibera Wetlands, Argentina
After breakfast you’ll be going on a guided tour of the Ibera Wetlands including Luna Lagoon and the Galarza Lagoon. As the second largest wetlands in the world the Esteros de Ibera are home to highly diverse species of plants and animals, including the river otter, maned wolf, and two species of crocodile. Lunch and dinner are included.
Day 04
Estancia San Lorenzo / Posadas / Puerto Iguazu
In the morning, you’ll have a private transfer to Posadas, where you’ll take the bus to Puerto Iguazu. Upon arrival, you will be taken to your hotel at which point you will have the afternoon to relax and enjoy the tropical climate and jungle setting, private service.
Day 05
Tour of Iguazu Falls: Argentine Side
After breakfast, you will leave in a full day excursion to the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls, regular service. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 06
Tour of Iguazu Falls: Brazilian Side
After breakfast, enjoy a half day excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu Falls from where you will get panoramic views of the falls visited the previous day, regular service.
Day 07
Puerto Iguazu to Salta
**(On Mondays & Fridays there’s a direct flight by Andes Airlines. If not, there are daily flights by Aerolineas Argentina or Lan via Buenos Aires)** Breakfast. At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport to take the flight to Salta, regular service. Upon arrival in Salta, you will be taken to the hotel, regular service.
Day 08
Salta, Argentina
Breakfast. Day at leisure. During your first day in the city, we highly recommend walking around the beautiful colonial area.
Day 09
Salta: Safari to the Clouds – Salt Flats - Purmamarca
Breakfast. Departing in the morning we will travel along the same route as the famous Train to the Clouds, zigzagging on lonely roads between the blue sky and the high desert plains. On our way, we will visit historic ruins, scattered houses, small villages and amazing landscapes. Regular service Our first destination is the small town of Campo Quijano and later the impressive Quebrada del Toro, where we will stop for a refreshing coffee break after some stunning viewpoints. From here, we will visit Santa Rosa de Tastil, a pre-Incan city of the XIII century for an easy hike through this ancient archeological site. After, we visit San Antonio de los Cobres, one of the smallest villages in the region- en route to the surreal landscape of the Great Salt Flats. The Great Salt Flats are perfect for amateur and professional photographers alike- where the natural light and reflections provide ample opportunities to test your creativity to the fullest. Finally, later in the afternoon we will arrive to our comfortable hotel in Purmamarca, located at the base of Jujuy´s famed 7-colored mountain. Overnight in Purmamarca.
Day 10
Humahuaca Gorge, Salta & Jujuy
After breakfast, you will depart early in the morning for a tour along the Humahuaca Gorge, declared a UNESCO Heritage Site, regular service. You will visit places such as Maimará, "Paleta del Pintor", Tilcara, Runa Arqueológica "El Pucará de Tilcara", Huacalera, Trópico de Capricornio, Uquía (Pinturas Cuzqueñas) and finally, the small town of Humahuaca before returning to Salta.
Day 11
CalchaquĂ­ Valley Excursion, 2 days
After breakfast, we leave to the Calchaqui Valley, one of the gems of the northwest. After leaving Salta and the Lerma Valley behind, we drive through the beautiful and green Laureles and Escoipe gorges. The scenery slowly changes its shape and color while we climb the majestic Cuesta del Obispo up to its highest point, at 3000 meters. Later, we go down to the Enchanted Valley (”Los Cardones” National Park), where we visit a place surrounded by multicolored landscapes and fresh, unpolluted air. Feel the silence and get close to nature in this isolated spot! Afterwards, we visit Cachi, a typical town where the architecture beautifully combines indigenous and Spanish traditions. In the afternoon we continue our trip to the south visiting the towns of Seclantas, Molinos and Angastaco. We will continue through Las Flechas Gorge until we will arrive at the town of Cafayate, regular service. Overnight in Cafayate.
Day 12
Calchaqui Valley Excursion, 2 days
To get to know Salta, you should taste its wine! That's why this tour takes you to the heart of wine country in Salta, zealously guarded by the stunning Quebrada de las Conchas (Conch Gorge). After leaving Salta and the Lerma Valley behind, we reach Alemania, an abandoned town that precedes the red mountains of the Conchas Gorge, where the erosion has carved interesting shapes into the rocks. Along the way, we will take take our time to stop, walk around and appreciate the impressive natural wonders. Highlights include, the Castles, the Amphitheater, the Devil's Gorge and other beautiful places. After that, we drive to Cafayate to visit two traditional wineries for wine tasting before returning to Salta. Regular service
Day 13
Salta to Buenos Aires
At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport to take the flight back to Buenos Aires, regular service.
Upon arrival, you will be taken to the hotel, private transfer.
Day 14
Buenos Aires Tour
Breakfast. Our half day City Tour will provide you a general view of the city and its attractions. During about three hours you will be able to visit Retiro, Palermo, 9th of July Avenue, Downtown, Puerto Madero, San Telmo, Recoleta and La Boca, private service.
Day 15
Buenos Aires
Breakfast. At appropriate time, you will be taken to the international airport to take your flight back home.
