Bariloche & The Lake District
Description
Beautiful Bariloche is located in the heart of Argentina’s Lake District and is the ideal base for exploring the nearby lakes, hiking trails and rich culture of Patagonia. Take in the stunning mountain views as you tour Bariloche’s “Circuito Chico”, walk through the Llao Llao Forest and then cruise Lake Nahuel Huapi and visit the traditional island communities before rewarding your efforts with some of the region’s locally brewed beer or hand-crafted chocolate.
Departures Every Day
Upon arrival you will be transferred to you hotel and have the afternoon to explore the town Swiss plaza or try some of the locally made chocolates.
We leave Bariloche along the Bustillo Av., which goes alongside the Nahuel Huapi lake with its beautiful scenery. After doing 10 Km we reach the base of Cerro Campanario (Belfry Hill) (Chair lift included), where we can see the Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno lakes, El Trebol Lagoon, the San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas, Isla Victoria, and the Otto, Lopez, Goye and a Catedral Hills. At Llao Llao you will come across the San Eduardo chapel, and Puerto Pañuelo (Handkerchief Port) is on the Nahuel Huapi lakeside. Heading on down the road we go by a golf course, and over the Angostura bridge towards Lopez Bay, at the foot of the Lopez hill. Then you cross the bridge on lake Moreno's narrow point and go along the side of El Trebol (Clover) lagoon. Further on you reach the junction with Bustillo Av. Along which you return to the city. (Regular service, half day excursion).
* During the afternoon you will enjoy a bus ride to Otto Hill. Upon arrive there, you will ascent in gondolas to the top station (the gondolas are closed for four people). After a 12 minute ascent, you will arrive at the top station. After walking a few meters along wide gallery, you reach Cerro Otto's summit, where "El jardin de la oracion" (The Garden of Prayer) is located, a beautiful panoramic oratory. There are also a few wide terraces to enjoy the surrounding landscape. And if the weather isn't very nice, you can enjoy the view from inside the warm Rotating Café, which turns permanently with smoothness and as synchronized as a watch allowing you to admire a 360 o panoramic view. You will have free time to walk around the place. At appropriate time you will take the bus for your return.
eakfast you will be taken to Puerto Pañuelo to depart on full day cruise to Isla Victoria & Bosque de Arrayanes (Victoria Island and Arrayanes Forest). Return to your hotel later in the afternoon.
At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport or bus terminal. Today, you can choose to extent your travels purchasing any of our available offers in the rest of Patagonia, Buenos Aires or the Mendoza area.
