Rio de Janeiro is known throughout the world as the “Capital of Carnival” and in Portuguese, Rio is known as, “Cidade Maravilhosa”, or the Marvelous City. With beautiful beaches, year-round sunshine, and a passion for football, cool caipirinhas and samba beats, Rio has it all. Sunbathe or surf as the locals, or “cariocas”, play football and volleyball along the sundrenched shores. Savor the fresh seafood and a delicious “rodizio” (Brazilian barbeque) as the sun sets into the sea, before exploring the many bars and clubs playing Brazilian beats till dawn. Of course, a visit to Brazil´s favorite city would not be complete without visiting Sugar Loaf Mountain (Pao de Açucar) to admire the views of the deep blue Atlantic Ocean and the tropical green forests that surround the city.
