| DESTINATION GUIDE MENDOZA |
Mendoza is one of Argentina’s most beautiful cities. It is a bustling and energetic metropolis that basks daily in a perpetually warm and sunny climate. It rests at the feet of the majestic Andes, under one of the highest peaks in the Americas – Aconcagua - which stands at a towering 22,835 ft/6,960 m. It is a modern city - one filled with tree lined avenues, parks, and plazas. Its surrounding suburbs overflow with gardens and orchards and just outside of town lie many picturesque and world famous wineries. Nearby is the Christ the Redeemer Statue and the Puente del Inca, a natural stone bridge 150 ft/45 m long and about 90 ft/25 m high, beneath which are nestled ancient Inca ruins. Mendoza’s pleasant weather is also ideal for many outdoor activities, and there are many such options in close proximity - such as mountain climbing, trekking, river rafting, wind sailing, and several world class ski destinations. |

Mendoza is known as the land of sun and it’s a fact that, even having diverse weather conditions, sun rises daily over the entire territory. We find two main areas with different weather, the plains and the mountains. On the Andes Range, we find high mountain climate with low temperatures and precipitations as snow during winter. On the plains and mountain valleys, we find mild temperatures. In average, summer temperatures fluctuate between 18 C and 33 C, with warm days and cool nights. During winter, the lowest is 3 C, while the highest is 16 C. Rainfall is low.

Mendoza can be visited all year long. One of its main attractions, wine tours, can be done during the entire year. During winter, you will be able to enjoy skiing and other winter sports in any of its famous resorts like Las Lenas or Penitentes. During spring and summer, many activities include rafting and trekking.
We recommend staying in Mendoza for at least two nights which will allow you to enjoy the basic tours, if you are planning to do some winter sports, most of the resorts offer good 3-night and 7-night deals. |
Mendoza can be accessed by plane from Buenos Aires (2h). Bus is the most common way of transportation in Mendoza, with connections to Buenos Aires (14h), Santiago de Chile (8h), San Rafael (4h), Malargue (6h) and other cities in the near provinces: San Juan (2h), Bariloche (14h), Cordoba (10h), etc. |
