Day 1 – Buenos Aires, Adventure in Argentina

Welcome to Argentina!
Capital of Argentina and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces this title, as well as shows off plenty of its own culture! Explore the traditional European architecture, the cobbled streets lined with rustic outdoor cafes, the local antique and artisanal markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping, and the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open “parrrilla” (barbeque) in the air. Buenos Aires is home to some excellent local designers and you will certainly find the perfect leather jacket, long leather boots and handbags for all occasions. Though above all, Buenos Aires is known as the home of the tango. Be sure to enjoy a traditional dinner-tango show and explore the colorful San Telmo and Recoleta neighborhoods.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and have a transfer in private to your hotel.

All of Argentina is wonderful!!! !!! Everyone that we worked with in Say Hueque took care of all our needs!!

I hope you are doing well!! First of all, thank you for the empanda recipe!! We will be using it as part of our Christmas dinner! In addition to the empanadas, we will also be having Matambre with Chimichurri Sauce, Ensalada Rusa, Humita, tomates rellenos, Flan and bread pudding

We found Say Hueque on the internet. Say Hueque had excellent reviews on various websites and was mentioned in Frommer's and Lonely Planet travel websites. I will be posting a review!! I am also attaching a few photos!

We traveled to six destinations on our trip.....each destination offered it's own uniqueness. The arrangements Say Hueque made for us helped us enjoy each location that much more without having to worry about all the travel details......Say Hueque took care of all that for us!!!

A favourite hotel? LOL!! The Belmond!!! Really, really nice hotel!!! We would have loved to have stayed here a little longer!!! All the hotels arranged for us were great!! Service, cleanliness, etc.....everything was really wonderful!!! One item that really impressed us about ALL the hotels we stayed in.....once we checked in, the people that worked at each hotel remembered our names!!! Very nice to experience that!!

Again....difficult to answer what has been our favourite excursion !! Hard to compare since each excursion offered it's own unique experience! Walking with penguins....very awesome!! Perito Moreno Glacier....phenomenal!!! The hiking, the scenery.....breathtaking!! All of Argentina is wonderful!!! Every single guide we had on our trip was great!!! Everyone kept things interesting, funny and adventurous!!! We loved all of them!!!

We cannot think of anything that needed improvements or changes!!! Everyone that we worked with in Say Hueque took care of all our needs!! All arrangements were taken care of, all guides and drivers were right on time, every time!!!

Take care!
Bridgett

The timing of the trip, the 100% success with transfers/pick ups, the mix of activities, the small guides to each location, vouchers and itinerary were excellent.

I found Say Hueque when I walked past the office and saw the sign ;) También, I was looking for a local travel agent.
Probably the highlight of the trip were three perfect days in El Chalten (with my own room!) after a long washed out Torres del Paine trip. The Pudo Lodge was great for obvious reasons :) Of the hostels, my favorite was America del sur.

Not counting El Chalten, the excursion to las ballenas at Peninsula Valdes was my favorite!
I would like to mention Gabriel on the boat/trek day in Ushuaia (I think Gabriel was the guide and Dario the driver). His bad (funny, nothing too wrong!) jokes about Chileans, amazing soundtrack (always a good song to motivate the group) and well-timed warming shots of local alcohol after the cold walk - a cool guy.

También, I won the small ship flag from the Ushuaia boat competition. When I take a photo with the flag in Australia, I will send you a copy too.

Seriously nothing to improve, the timing of the trip, the 100% success with transfers/pick ups, the mix of activities, the small guides to each location, vouchers and itinerary were excellent.

I should have taken the advice about the unico cajero automatico en El Chalten more seriously (no efectivo the whole three days) but it was clear in the guide!

And of course my thanks for your patience with the initial payment trouble.

I finally tried one of your burger suggestions - Los Infernales was amazing :D Me gusta San Telmo!

thank you again for a truly excellent three-week experience. We will definitely recommend Say Hueque to our friends.

Hi Vera,

Further to our recent trip to Patagonia I wanted to write to you to say thank you on behalf of my wife and Mr and Mrs Shaw for putting together a truly excellent holiday experience. It was also very useful knowing we could ring Ursula at any time should we encounter any problems. There were a couple of occasions we called on her services and were very impressed at how promptly she resolved the issues. She also provided an excellent city tour of Buenos Aires!

Overall we were very happy with all the travel and accommodation arrangements – with one exception. This is not a complaint but something you might want to bear in mind if you are putting together a similar itinerary for another client. Big Bang Patagonia was not what we were expecting after having finished the W trek. Bear in mind our transfer to Puerto Natales was after a full day’s hiking so the last time we had enjoyed a proper meal would have been at breakfast time (7am). We didn’t get to Big Bang Patagonia until 10.15pm so, as I’m sure you can imagine, we were all pretty hungry. The first problem is this is not a hotel – it is a hostel. Secondly it is in the middle of nowhere with no cafes or restaurants open in the immediate vicinity. We were further informed that the hostel offers no food or drink facilities in the evenings (not even water!). The upshot of this is we went to bed having not had a proper meal for over 15 hours. To make matters worse, being in a suburb, we were kept awake all night (soundproofing of rooms was non-existent) by barking dogs. Given we had booked 3-star hotel accommodation, Big Bang Patagonia was a serious let down and definitely the low point of the holiday. I should emphasise that all other accommodation was great!

One other point I would like to raise is regarding the Beagle Channel cruise we were booked on whilst in Ushuaia. Regrettably this was cancelled due to bad weather. According to your Terms and Conditions Say Hueque reserves the right in this circumstance to substitute an alternative activity of equivalent monetary value. On this occasion Ursula informed us that no alternative was available. I’m assuming therefore that we will be able to receive some sort of refund for this particular excursion as it was included within the total cost of the holiday. Ursula said this may well be the case although it may take time to process. I would be grateful if you could confirm this is indeed the case.

Notwithstanding these last two issues, thank you again for a truly excellent three-week experience. We will definitely recommend Say Hueque to our friends.

Kind regards,

David Meckin
