In the afternoon, you will be picked up for your excursion to the impressive Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley).

Continuing towards the eyes of the salt flats, you will arrive at Colchani town, located in the limits of Uyuni salt flat
From here you will head to the tranquil Bolivian Uyuni city, where you will arrive in the late afternoon.

Before booking this trip you must know:

While the landscapes you will encounter during this adventurous trip are absolutely stunning, it is imperative to understand that the 3-day tour from San Pedro de Atacama to the Uyuni Salt Flats is a very authentic experience that may pose obstacles or challenges for some travelers. It certainly is not suited for everyone as the services and accommodation options available in this remote region are very limited and will not be of the same elevated quality that visitors may expect.

For example, food is included, but it is extremely basic. Nights will be spent in rudimentary shelters with shared rooms and communal bathrooms, and water may or may not be running during your visit. Temperatures during the evenings can also plummet to 20º Celsius below 0 (-4º Fahrenheit), and altitudes climb to more than 5,000 meters above sea level (16,000 feet). It is also important to note that the drivers in this area typically do not speak English and are strictly drivers, not specialized tour guides.

The region attracts travelers from around the world for its remarkable landscapes that are unlike anywhere on earth, but anybody considering visiting this awe-inspiring destination must understand that comfort and convenience are not a priority. If you can “rough it” for a few days, we guarantee that you will fall in love with this special part of South America and make memories that will last a lifetime.

4WD tour in Bolivia. It was adventurous & very different...

Hi Patricia,

We found Say Hueque through TripAdvisor and decided to work with you because of the good reviews.

The easy communication before and even during the trip was our highlight traveling with you. Great sample itineraries and suggestions from you and Patricio which made organising easier because of the flexibility.

Our favorite hotel was Mirado del Lago in el Calafate. It was clean, comfortable. Food was exceptional.

We liked the 4-day 4WD tour in Bolivia. It was adventurous, very different from the cities that we have come from and our driver, Rodolfo Cayo, was amazing, he took care of us and made sure we were well supplied with coca leaves to battle our altitude sickness.

Best regards

Guides gave lots of information, in Spanish and English and full of humor!

Dear Patty,

We just returned from a 3week South America trip. It was great and I will reply gladly to your questions.

We searched on internet and learned about Say Hueque. We decided to travel with you because the comments over the 6day trip Attacama-Uyuni were really good.

I would say our highlight were the good guides who gave lots of information. We only stayed in e one hotel, the Don Tomas hotel in San Pedro.

We had short excursions and one large: the three day 4wd to Uyuni. The El Tunio exursions was great. Early to get up but worth it. The 4wd tour was awesome with highlights and depths (the overnight stay in the refugee: ‘basic’ accommodation was an understatement). Although an experience, it took many hours to recover from it.

I forgot the name of the guide to the El Tunio geysers – he was awesome (I believe he is an San Pedro artist). He gave lots of information, in Spanish and English and full of humor!

Thank you for all your help before and during my trip, which was really an unforgettable experience!

Hi Yuna, hi Vanesa!

I am now back home again and wanted to thank you for all your help before and during my trip, which was really an unforgettable experience! On my last day we went to a Milonga in Buenos Aires, which was I think a perfect finish =).
I really enjoyed Valle de la Luna, so thanks again for arranging this for me, which probably wasn't easy, but I can really recommend this to other travellers who want to see a different side of Argentina.

I hope you have some more warm days in Buenos Aires, here in Frankfurt it is now getting warm and sunny as well :)

Thanks again and all the best,
Tina
