BUENOS AIRES & BAHÍA BUSTAMANTE

Visit a vibrant city and wild Patagonia - 7 days

Bahia Bustamante, Argentina is a unique, peaceful coastal paradise in Patagonia. Explore Bahia Bustamante´s pristine beaches, traditional sheep ranch and see incredible marine life including penguins, whales and sea lions, as well as hundreds of species of birds. In addition to the visit to Bahia Bustamante, this trip includes three nights in cosmopolitan Buenos Aires with an included city tour and luxurious dinner and tango show.

Day 1 – Welcome to Buenos Aires, your Adventure in Argentina!

Welcome to Argentina!
Capital of Argentina and described as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires proudly embraces this title, as well as shows off plenty of its own culture! Explore the traditional European architecture, the cobbled streets lined with rustic outdoor cafes, the local antique and artisanal markets that offer plenty of bargain shopping, and the mouthwatering aroma of prized Argentine beef sizzling on an open “parrrilla” (barbeque) in the air. Buenos Aires is home to some excellent local designers and you will certainly find the perfect leather jacket, long leather boots and handbags for all occasions. Though above all, Buenos Aires is known as the home of the tango. Be sure to enjoy a traditional dinner-tango show and explore the colorful San Telmo and Recoleta neighborhoods.

Upon arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met at the airport and have a transfer in private to your hotel.

You will have the rest of the day to enjoy this vibrant city, leaving you the remainder of the day to explore the historic neighborhoods and enjoy the cafe culture of Buenos Aires.

Over the course of a half day you will have the chance to visit the historical and political centre of the city; San Telmo with its cobblestone streets, La Boca where Buenos Aires turns colorful and tango is ever present, and the chic and aristocratic Recoleta, where the big palaces remind us that Buenos Aires was once the Paris of the South.

Duration; 4-5 hours

In the evening you will be picked up from your hotel (shared service) to be driven to one of Buenos Aires’ most emblematic cultural highlight’s; a Dinner and Tango Show offering a spectacular demonstration of the finest local dancing accompanied by delicious Argentine cuisine and all the malbec you’d like.

Day 3 – Get to know Buenos Aires day trips

This is a perfect day to explore the areas you had not visited on your first stay here. Walk along the new harbor, go to a milonga or even visit the world famous Opera House.
Day at leisure to explore the cobbled, tree lined streets of Palermo Soho in search of one of a kind Porteño fashion, to sit in café and enjoy a perfectly aged glass of malbec, or perhaps to sip yerba mate (local tea) out of your newly purchased mate gourd while people watching in one of the parks that make up the Palermo Bosques.

Day 4 - From Buenos Aires to Comodoro Rivadavia – Bahia Bustamante

At appropriate time, you will be taken in private service to the domestic airport to take the flight to Comodoro Rivadavia.
When you arrive at Comodoro Rivadavia airport, you’ll have a private transfer to Bahía Bustamante (distance: 180 Km – 112 miles) along some dusty, dirt roads.

Upon arrival at Bahia Bustamante, you will immediately appreciate the remoteness of this beautiful seaside village located on Patagonia´s Atlantic coast.
The place, on the northern arch of San Jorge Gulf, is entirely surrounded by nature, an area characterized by its relevant biological biodiversity. There are few places in the world that house such an amount and diversity of seabirds and marine mammals.

It is a great place to experience life as it has been for the last 100 years. The sunsets here (you can see them from the back fence and over the Patagonian Steppes) are more than spectacular.

You will spend 3 nights at one of the traditional “houses by the sea”.

Visit to a Typical Patagonian Ranch:
Bahía Bustamante is part of a group of three Estancias (ranches) that all together add up more than 80.000 hectares. In each of the Estancias you may learn about the production process of wool and meat, and according to the season, you may participate in a day´s work at one of the Estancias. Visit the corrals and learn about the different activities: shearing, weaning, classification or marking of the sheep.
When shearing begins in early August, animals need to be rounded up. The group of workers gathers up in one of the Estancias and then, after the job is done they move on to the next Estancia. A very intense months work! All of our guests visiting Bahía Bustamante during the month of August will be able to participate in this typical Patagonian activity. We shear around 20.000 sheep! As from August the Estancias activity calendar is very varied, and is in constant move until the end of April. Shear in August, marking in November and December, weaning in January and February, classification of the animals towards the end of February and insemination in May, are part of the main attractions.
Estimated time: 4/5 hours approx.

Please Note – The following Activities are NOT included in the tour price, but may be arranged locally for an additional cost: Horseback riding, Kayaking, Photography Cruise in a Zodiac boat.

You did a phenomenal job, all the best in everything!

Hello dear friends,

Thank you Patty, Vera & Yuna for organizing and helping us go through an unforgettable journey.

First learned about SayHeque in 2014 while searching for help organizing a tour from Brasil to Iguazu - I wrote to some companies and SayHeque were the most helpful and caring and organized. Chose to work with you because of good pass experience, the way you cared about my and my children's personal needs and being kind and informal and caring and your very good organizing and planning ability and choice of excursions.

The whole trip, for myself and my daughter Ma'ayan was a fantastic and unique experience - from the connection with you and the planning more than half a year ago to the recent planning to helping us and taking us through the trip - it was a joy working with you. Also a good planning of activities vs. time to rest.

The way you fixed and adjusted the whole itenerary - from the start, the choice of activities, places , tour companies, transfers - fantastic. Then taking care that all works and of course helping us when we got stuck because of a cancelled flight - the way you rescheduled rhings and cared for us - we felt like we have a family taking care of us in Buenos Aires while we are in the wilderness of Patagonia.

Thank you for the recommendations about things to do in spare time - when I followed them they were always very good.
Last 2 days in Buenos Aires which I planned myself were great too - and the way you organized things was the inspiration for me (and I always knew that if I have trouble I can call you)

There were many highlights - the best was helping us and rescheduling the plans when things got mixed up because of cancelled flight - also the feeling I got from you that I have someone I can trust in a far away country, especially as I was with a child. Of course many of the tours.

Our favorite hotel was actually Stella Australis ship - high class, great-unbelievable fantastic personal care, guidance and activity, of course Bahia Bustamante - staff and location and activities, also Kau-Yatun in El-Calafate (very helpful staff, fantastic facilities), Piren in P.Madryn (staff, location, facilities)

Almost all excursions were great but 3 stand out and were unforgettable - Stella Australis, Bahia Bustamante and Snorkeling with Lobos Marinos.
Punta Tumbo, Whale watching (actually they could do it better but the event itself is amazing) and Estancia Habersteron also fantastic.

Everybody on the Stella Australis, the guide on the Estancia Harbersteron tour, Gabriel on the Parque Nacional TDF tour, Matias and his guides in B.Bustamonte and the guides of Master Divers P.Madryn (Matias and the the girl in the reception - forgot her name, sorry). Also the guide on the Punta Tumbo tour (and the whole Huinca Travel agency staff) were great.
Also would like to thank the drivers : From BSAS EZE airport to AJP airport, drivers on the 2 TDF tours, driver on the Punta tumbo tour.

Not much to improve – just some comments: Peninsula Valdez and whale watching was a little bit rushed on one hand and time wasted on the other hand - the place changed and it should be let known that one cannot really see Elephant Seals from close by, and it was nice if whale watching was less crowded, explained better - and i would have gotten a better explanation about the option of buying DVD / photos of the experience. Patagonia IF hotel in Puerto Natales is not so good - nice and caring staff but bad facilities, sorry.

Again to team SayHeque - TODA RABA - may god bless you!!! See you again asap
