If you love Penguins, Punta Tombo is a place you definitely need to see. It’s the largest colony of Magellan penguins in South America. The colony’s population reaches over half a million birds during the peak season, and the best time to visit is between October and April. One of the greatest features of this reserve is the fact that you can literally walk among the penguins and observe the penguins in their homes in this native habitat. Watch the penguins living in the wild, as you see how they feed their babies, defend their territory, build their nests, and of course, waddle in and out of the sea.

Doradillo Beach

Kayak with Sea Lions

Snorkelling with Sea Lions

Start your adventure by wading through the water to board a boat that will take you to a massive sea lion colony found in a nature reserve in Punta Loma on the Patagonia coast. Once you arrive to the site, you’ll hop in the water decked out in snorkel gear and wetsuits. Swim over to the colony of sea lions and play in the water as these friendly wild animals swim around you. This natural preserve has a stable colony of more than 900 sea lions, which leaves you awestruck as you find yourself face to face with natural wonders of Argentina’s coastline.

Peninsula Valdes

 

Enjoy a trip to one of the best places in the world for whale watching because of the extremely high concentration of whales. Spend the day touring the animal-rich Valdes Peninsula. To enter this UNESCO World Heritage site, you will cross a narrow strip of land where you will be able to see the sea on both sides. Then, work your way to Caleta Valdes, which is the home of a sea elephant colony. Continue along the road as it drops into a crescent of cliffs overlooking a bright blue bay and the village of Puerto Pyramids. During the Whale season you can take a boat ride around Golfo Nuevo for whale watching, for an additional cost.
