In the evening, get ready to depart to Puerto Iguazú in a fully equipped bus with a bathroom, heating and air conditioning (box dinner and breakfast are also provided on board). Say Hueque tips

“So you want to take a bus to Iguazú falls?”: check out this article in our blog and be prepared to travel all night and sleep over in the bus. Wear comfortable clothing, take an extra pair of socks or a blanket in case it gets colder at night. If you want to make this trip a truly local experience, take your “mate” equipment with you. This teatype beverage is our national drink, a time-honored tradition and a must-bring item on any road trip you will do in Argentina.

Day 2 – Welcome to Iguazú!

You have arrived to Iguazú! The small border town of Puerto Iguazú is the gateway to visit the impressive Iguazú falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, making it a must-see destination for any traveler visiting Argentina.

Upon arrival, you will be met at the bus station and provided a transfer to your hotel. Answer the call of vacations and take your time to relax at your hotel. If you’re eager to explore, you can visit the “Hito tres fronteras”, a viewpoint west of the town center that stands high above the turbulent reddish-brown junction of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers, which also form the Triple Frontera, or Triple Border between Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Or visit the Güirá Oga (the house of birds in native Guaraní language), the sanctuary for animals hurt by illegal hunting and trapping.

Say Hueque tips

For the most adventurous, we recommend to take a bike tour through the rainforest with an specialised guide. You will discover the flora and fauna, the sounds of the jungle, the trail of little native mammals and the traditions of the Guaranies.

Day 3 – Argentinian side of the falls

Today our driver and bilingual guide will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the National Park, on the Argentinian side.

The falls are surrounded by a humid subtropical forest where the exuberant vegetation is home to many different animals and birds. Our guide will help you spot some of them: ant birds, toucans, manakins, parrots, coatis, just to name a few of the most common birds. Lower and upper walkways weave in and around falls permitting up close and personal experiences with this magnificent spectacle of nature. The Argentine side of the falls is filled with a myriad of paths and walkways and stairways which allow you to have an experience from many different perspectives. You will have the chance to meet “The Devil’s throat”: the largest of the falls and for many the most spellbinding. To get to the “Devil’s throat” you take the ecological train and then walk out along boardwalks. After walking and taking pictures of animals and plants, you will have some free time to eat lunch in this amazing environment.

This exciting, 6-7 hour-long excursion is highly recommended in order to experience the true power of Iguazú Falls.

Say Hueque tips

Would you love to have a “Great Adventure”? The Great Adventure (“gran aventura”) is an optional tour you can add on this day. You will take an open air jeep through the rainforest and then a zodiac open air boat ride up the river to the base of the falls (there is a 100% chance that you will get soaking wet on this boat trip, so be sure to take some extra clothes!).

Day 4 – Iguazú falls tours: Brazilian side

After breakfast, enjoy a 3-4  hour excursion to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú Falls. Don´t forget your passport! While Argentina has 80% of the falls on its side, Brazil has the best panoramic view. On the Argentinian side you will have the sensation of being right inside the falls, but only by visiting the Brazilian side you will fully appreciate the immensity of Iguazú falls. Take your time to enjoy it and feel it, to stroll the different walkways and feel the spray of water in your face. Take the boardwalk over the Salto Santa María, it feels like walking on the water. Get closer to the “Devil’s Throat” and feel the power of water! We are sure this is a day you will never forget.

If you don’t want to end this adventure, today you can choose to extend your travels adding on any optional activities, touring in Brazil, Patagonia or the Andes area or return back to Buenos Aires. The shared transfer to the Puerto Iguazú bus station is included.

Take a look at our Iguazú falls Travel guide and check out our recommendations on other optional tours in Iguazú, or keep on travelling and take a look to our tailor-made trips throughout Argentina.

The hotel provided was luxurious and beautiful! Such a great place to stay, staff were great and facilities were fantastic. Couldn't ask for more.

Hi Sergio

I am great thank you!
We have returned to the hotel for a couple hours until we fly to rio tonight to continue for another two months in Latin America. Yay!
The hotel provided was luxurious and beautiful! Such a great place to stay, staff were great and facilities were fantastic. Couldn't ask for more.

But oh the falls, they were magnificent! Indescribable in their beauty!
We did bioth sides and they were so much more than we could ever have imagined!
The tour guides were fantastic very good English very friendly and made out journey through the falls great!

We found say hueque through the internet while searching for Tours to the falls, and the itinerary looked the best, and was a great price.
Sadly we only did two days with the tour including the bus to iguassu from buenos aires which was fantastic! The sleeping bus with reclining chairs were so comfortable and a great way to travel, a little tricky to find the bus at the beginning to board but that's nothing to say about the company more the Retiro bus station issue. There was no one to ask for help or information and as we speak very limited Spanish that was a little difficult but we got through!
The only fault was not being picked up at the iguassu bus terminal as our bus was late, and when we arrived none of the phones or computers were accessible at the bus terminal so we then had to pay for our own taxi :(
But all in all a great tour and we enjoyed it thoroughly.

Thank you

We really enjoyed our visit to Argentina, had also nice catching up with my family who lives in Buenos Aires and we really liked the organisation of Say Hueque.

Dear Patty,

First of all I wish you a happy New Year, a lot of luck, health and joy in 2017.

I'm so so sorry that I didn't reply your email! As I think we told you, we have our own pharmacy and right after the journey we opened up and it was really hectic again. So your email got a little bit lost...

We really enjoyed our visit to Argentina, had also nice catching up with my family who lives in Buenos Aires and we really liked the organisation of Say Hueque.

Thanks for the recipe of the empanadas!

Now the feedback, finally...

Which hotel did you like the most? We liked all the hotels, all were good, clean, nice people... No preference.

Which was your favorite excursion? Iguazu falls, breathtaking the Argentinian and the Brazilian side!

What was the best of traveling with us? Traveling, as in way of transportation? The night bus from Iguazu to Buenos Aires
Is there anything you think could be improved? Thelong bustrips in little busses from Salta and back, but maybe there is no alternative. Don't get me wrong, the organisation was good, there were friendly guides and the things to see were nice, but just the way of transportation was a bit less.

The organisation was really perfect and in detail. Every day there was someone to pick us up, to make sure we were ok, etc. The guidelines with the time of pick up, were very helpful.

I just gave the organisation an excellent rating for world's best tour operator. :)

Greetings,

Tom & Erika
