Upon arrival in Posadas, and on the way to Tacuapi Lodge, you will have a stop at San Ignacio Mini Jesuit Ruins. Built in 1632, these ruins have been declared a World Heritage Site by the Unesco for its historical importance. Built for the colonization of the natives of the area, the ruins were left by the Jesuits in 1767 when they were forced to abandon the continent.
Lost in dense vegetation, the remains were found in 1897, but weren’t restored until 1940.-
