Day 2 – Mendoza Tours: High Mountain, Aconcagua

After breakfast, you will have a full day tour (shared service) to the nearby Andes Mountains where you will enjoy some panoramic views and the impressive Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas. Starting along the Mendoza River, you will be amazed by the view of the majestic mountain range Cordon del Plata as well as the Potrerillos Dam, colossal work for hydraulic power generation and also the beautiful valley of Cacheuta.
Our next visit is Uspallata, pre-Hispanic settlement of aborigines “Huarpes” and the southern last point of the Inca Empire, as far as the Inca track from Peru.
We also pass by the villages of Picheuta, Polvareda and Punta de Vacas, access point to Mendoza ski resort “Los Penitentes” which works from June to August.

Further ahead is Puente del Inca where river “Las Cuevas” has carved the mountain forming a natural bridge with strands of natural hot springs. You will also be able to appreciate the magnificence of Mount Aconcagua the “colossus of America” with 6959 meters of height
Following the international route to reach our ultimate destination there are the Customs Offices “Horcones”, and a few kilometers ahead, on the border with Chile, there is Las Cuevas village located at 3.200 meters above the sea level.
