Day 2 – Peninsula Valdes Whale Watching

After breakfast you will be led on a full day’s tour of the Valdes Peninsula (shared service). To enter this UNESCO World Heritage site, you will cross an incredibly narrow strip of land with sea on both sides. Further along you will arrive at Caleta Valdes, a large natural creek that is home to a colony of sea elephants. After admiring Caleta Valdes you’ll continue along the road as it drops suddenly down into a crescent of golden cliffs overlooking a bright blue bay and the small village of Puerto Piramides. Here herds of southern right whales tend to arrive in June.
You will take a boat trip around the Golfo Nuevo bay and watch these immense creatures gliding past. The peninsula navigation allows you to get unusually close to the whales. You will even get wet if they jump!

While the whales may be seen from late June to mid December, the sea elephants and sea lions are permanent residents. Following your tour you will return to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.

Day 3 – Puerto Madryn Tours: Penguins in Punta Tombo

Today you will leave Puerto Madryn and drive 120km south to visit the largest colony of Magellan penguins in South America.
The colony’s population reaches over half a million birds during the peak season, and the best time to visit is between October and April. One of the greatest features of this reserve is the fact that you can literally walk among the penguins and observe their habits.

You’ll have the opportunity to see how they feed their babies, defend their territory, build their nests, and of course watch their characteristic comedic waddle in and out of the sea. You will then return to your hotel in Puerto Madryn just in time to enjoy the sunset.

Day 4 – Puerto Madryn, the end of your Patagonia Adventure!

At the appropriate time you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport to take your flight or bus (shared service).

Today, you can choose to extend your travels purchasing any of our available offers in the rest of Patagonia or Buenos Aires.

Say Hueque was great to work with and created a perfect trip for us!

I am happy to give feedback about our travels in Argentina! We had a great time!

1. I chose Say Hueque based on several things including great reviews, comprehensive custom tour offerings at good prices and personal service.

2. Agustin was very efficient and helpful in all aspects of the booking process. He created a perfect combination of tours in the selected destinations including all transfers. Payments were simple and easy via PayPal and it worked great that all three of us could pay individually. He was also very patient will all of my questions via email and wrote back promptly with advice and suggestions. He also communicated with me while we were in Argentina about concerns with a possible pilot’s strike by Aerolineas Argentina and helped resolve the changes that we needed to do both before and after the strike was resolved. Kudos to your emergency crew as well who were aware of everything that was going on with us and were right on top of things. I had to call them several times with issues related to the threatened strike and also a transfer at the end of our trip. Great job all round!

3. My favorite hotel was probably Dazzler Palermo though I would have liked a hotel that was a little closer to Recoleto or San Telmo areas as it turned out. Most of the other hotels had large rooms and friendly staff. Koi Aiken in El Calafate was also pretty far outside the center of town but we liked the hotel otherwise. The one place that we didn’t care for was De Los Andes in Ushuaia. The triple room we had was very small, barely room for three beds and we had to squeeze by one of the beds to get to the bathroom. The hotel seemed very old and needs some updating. The location was very nice though. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

5. We really liked all of our excursions in Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego hike and canoe, Trek to Esmerelda Lagoon and Beagle Channel cruise) but also the Peninsula Valdes tour to Punta Norte from Puerto Madryn because of all the animals that we saw that day.

6. Our two favorite guides were:
Tina for our walking tour in Buenos Aires. She took us to the southern part of the city to San Telmo and La Boca and was very easy to talk with and very informative.
Daniel in Ushuaia for our Tierra del Fuego hike and canoe and also the trek to Esmerelda Lagoon. He gave us two very good days of activity and is very knowledgeable about the area.

7. I think the only thing that we were disappointed in was the hotel in Ushuaia, otherwise we absolutely loved the entire trip! We all agreed that Say Hueque was great to work with and created a perfect trip for us! Thanks so much!

I will also plan to write a TripAdvisor review too in the next few days.

Everyone was super helpful!

We chose to travel with Say Hueque because you had all of the tours we wanted and helped us customize an option that worked with our budget. The booking process was easy and helpful.

The Mercure in Iguazu was our favorite hotel... and we visited the Loi for dinner and thought it was better. Worst hotel was the Dazzler Palermo... room was small and dirty.

Our favourite excursion was Punto Tumbo penguins... soooo many of them. Would have been better if somehow you could take a boat down from Valdez peninsula, but I know that isn’t an option. Regarding the guides, everyone was super helpful!

We had to change our flight from Puerto Madryn last minute. I thought Lucia and I had talked about leaving earlier and she said the tour wouldn’t be over in time.. though she was right about the end time of the tour, we didn’t need to see the paleontology museum so we skipped that. Similarly, we wasted 5 hours in the Foz de Iguazu airport waiting to fly to Rio (a flight we had booked) but we would have preferred a tour that used up more of our day if the flight time was known.

It was a great trip. Everything was organized well and efficiently from start to finish.

Hola Marcela!

I first learned about Say Hueque through Google, I think.

I decided to travel with you because of the good reviews and that Say Hueque is based in Argentina with lots of information on the website that gave me confidence in your local knowledge. Everything was organized well and efficiently from start to finish.

L'Hotel is my favorite- picteresque, good location, friendly staff.

The best excursion was the Estancia Cristina hike through Canyon of Fossils. Beautiful scenery with views of glacier from the boat and 1st part of the hike, then the canyon with the spectacular rock colors and fossils. Last part through valley, not so exciting but we did come across a herd of horses. It was a great physical activity, not too strenous or difficult but just right!

Our guide Sergio from Puerto Madryn has te be mentioned. He was our guide for the Peninsula Valdez excursion and had lots of information that he shared at appropriate times. The next day on the Punto Tomba visit, we were with another guide, but kept crossing paths with Sergio (he had a small group) and he was again very friendly and talked with us quite a bit (without ignoring his own group of course!).
moment!

It was a great trip. I will make a post on TripAdvisor.

Thank you,
Claudio
